POLICE have put out a house burglary warning in the Kirkburton/Highburton areas.Raiders struck overnight recently somewhere between 5 and 5.30am forcing windows. The police are calling for “utmost vigilance” from residents and urge people to please dial 999 in the event of any suspicious circumstances.

BURGLARYClayton West, April 23. Intruder got in after attacking Euro-profile lock on back door of house and stole TV, cash and car keys – and then made off in victim’s car – blue Audi A4 YG09FCO. Highburton, April 24. Top part of stable type door forced then bin used to climb into house. Intruder confronted by a witness and ran off. Handbag and sound system stolen. Suspect: white male, 5ft 7ins tall, slightly overweight, healthy looking with round puppy fat type face, approx 18 years of age, wearing baseball cap which was either dark blue of black.ŠShort dark thick hair, possibly dark brown, fresh looking face and dark clothing. Flockton. April 25.Lock on garden shed door forced and strimmer stolen. Flockton April 25/26. Intruder got into shed in front garden without causing damage and stole petrol strimmer and two mountain bikes. Denby Dale April 26. Padlock forced off double wooden garage doors and mountain bike stolen. Highburton, April 27. Intruder climbed in through insecure front window. Householder heard noise and went downstairs where he saw suspect halfway through window. Nothing stolen. Suspect: white male, slim build, 5ft 3in tall in mid 20s, wearing blue jeans grey hooded top and dark balaclava or hat. May have injury to his eye. Highburton, April 28. Intruder got into detached garage through unlocked side door and stole power/hand tools. Kirkburton, April 29. Intruder/s got into property by forcing Euro-profile lock. once inside suspect/s made a selective search in the kitchen and removed car keys from drawer. Suspect/s then made off in victim’s vehicles – white Mercedes 208 YD54JJL, and black VW Toura reg YM05RAX.

THEFTN K Chemicals, Jubilee Way, Grange Moor, April 27. Gate forced and intruders drove into yard of warehouse premises. Wood and plastic pallets loaded into vehicle and stolen. Highburton, April 28. Bench stolen from neighbour’s garden and bamboo pole stolen from garden. Thief then jemmied three windows but didn’t get in. Then he attacked front kitchen window, propped it open with the bamboo pole and climbed in to steal wallet and contents. Highburton, April 29. Back kitchen window jemmied open and vehicle keys removed. Purse also stolen.
