TAXI drivers have been ordered off the roads of Huddersfield in a crackdown on dodgy cabs.
Police and council officers took firm action by suspending drivers whose vehicles had safety faults.
And they promised more of the same with repeated checks on both Hackney cabs and private-hire cars.
It was the first time in years such a joint operation had been mounted.
