A GYM owner is offering a £ for lb challenge to raise vital funds for Brackenhall children’s hospice.
Kirt Nandakumar runs Body Transformation Gym in Quay Street, Huddersfield, and has launched the initiative to get 100 people to lose 10lb each by participating in a 12-week weight loss programme.
And every £20 paid per entrant will be donated straight to the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
Kirt, 25, said: “The gym has been up and running for about six months now and I heard about the great work of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and thought it was a worthy cause to raise money for.
“January is great time to launch our £ for lb challenge which will see entrants pay £20 for our 12 week weight loss programme.”
He added: “There are a lot of diets and exercise programmes out there which offer quick results which don’t always last and create a yo-yo weight.
“We will offer nutritional advice and exercise programme with use of our facilities to create more lasting results.”
Those taking part in the challenge do not have to be existing gym members.
And to kick-start the challenge Kirt invited the hospice’s senior community fundraiser Gaynor Bearder to try out the facilities.
Forget Me Not Hospice opened its doors for families of sick children to stay at its purpose built facility last month, and has been helping children with life limiting illnesses and conditions in the community for more than a decade.
