THE organ donor list is the waiting list no-one wants to be on.

Time is often crucial for these patients and, sadly, it often takes too long for the chance of a match to come around.

Huddersfield Town is once more showing how it is a club committed to the community that supports it by raising the profile of organ donation at this Saturday’s home game against Bolton.

The last time the club did this an amazing 9,000 people signed up and if this was mirrored nationwide the donor register would be bulging with potential lifesavers.

For that is what this list is all about – the gift of life and that has to be the greatest gift of all both now near Christmas and all year round.

Too many people are dying needlessly because the donors just aren’t there in sufficient numbers.

Today we highlight the plight of Meltham man David Horsfall who was struck down by illness and now needs a double lung transplant.

Time for David is of the essence but his name is on a long list.

It’s so easy to give David and the 10,000 other people across the UK who need an organ transplant hope.

And you can do that today simply by adding your name to the register.
