The determined youngsters pedalled from Penistone to Wortley along the old Sheffield Victoria railway line ignoring the downpour.

As we reported recently, a rather muddy team leader, teacher Mrs Travis, said that all the pupils did very well and that nobody had complained about the weather.

Meanwhile, the infants enjoyed a water fun day back on the school field. The school has excelled in sports recently bringing in a second and fourth for orienteering.

The Year 5 school leavers held a special assembly to mark the end of their time at the school. Each pupil wrote down their hopes and dreams on a card and tied it to a balloon which was then released.
