A BUSINESS in Huddersfield has been raising cash for a good cause – by increasing awareness of healthier eating habits.

Gina Battye, of Quarmby-based Quartz Services, presented a cheque for £240 to

Home-Start Kirklees, a charity supporting parents and their families through difficult times.

As well as offering emotional and practical support to families, the charity aims to help parents with basic skills such as budgeting, cooking and eating healthily to give their children the best start in life.

The sum was raised through a pilot scheme for Launch Nutrition, which used the Kane Academy in Lockwood as a base.

A group of six people attended 10 weekly meetings to learn about the food they eat, how to make better food choices and how to eat healthier.

Gina will be starting a new Launch Nutrition 10-week programme in January, 2012, which will be run from Halo Hair & Beauty in Paddock.
