A JUNIOR Rugby League club raised £2,000 with a fund-raising race night.
Newsome Panthers held the event at Almondbury Liberal Club to raise cash for their Hall Bower clubhouse project.
Two of the races were for lady owners only and the horses in the final race of the night were auctioned off with the winning owner getting a meal for two donated by Grappolos Italian Restaurant at Lockwood and being chauffeured by Elite Voyager.
On closing the proceedings the Under 16s coach, Andrew McGuire, thanked the committee for their excellent organisation, the race sponsors and everyone for attending.
