CHILDREN of Longroyde Junior School have hundreds of new books to pick from now their new library has opened.

Pam Clarke, the extended schools coordinator who encourages links between the school and community, said: “Our old library was looking a bit worn, we’ve moved it and it’s been modernised.

“Work has been going on for a couple of months and the school council has been involved along with our librarian, Dawn McGuire.

“The children are really pleased with how it looks, we’ve ordered lots more new books for it and it’s much bigger.

“It will be a borrowing library so children can take books home and read more at home.”

Helen Lennie, the headteacher at Rastrick High School officially opened the library.
