Two memorial services at Longley School were held last week to celebrate the lives of two members of staff, Emma Siswick and Jim Duffy.
Head teacher Mrs Anne Lawton said: “Pupils and staff had two very special assemblies on Wednesday, July 9.
“The assembly in the morning was to share happy memories of well-respected Emma Siswick who died on May 18.
“She had worked at Longley school for 10 years. Decorated flowers were hung on a tree in her memory.
“A tree will be planted in the school grounds as a permanent memorial to Emma.”
Mrs Lawton said the afternoon assembly was to share positive memories of Jim Duffy, a well-respected senior member of staff who taught at Longley for 11 years and died on June 5.
Pupils and staff wrote messages on stones that will be made into a cairn to be sited at the entrance to school as a lasting memorial to Jim.
Both assemblies paid tribute to the contributions Emma and Jim have made to school.
