A CHURCH has celebrated the anniversary of its Sunday school.
The fun day at Salendine Nook Baptist Church also coincided with the passing of the Olympic torch through the town on Sunday last week.
The church on the Moorhill Road site was formed back in 1743.
Its Sunday School was then started around 185 years ago.
To celebrate a special service was held at the church.
This was followed by some family friendly activities to mark the Olympic flame passing through Salendine Nook on its way to the games in London later this month.
These activities included a barbecue, games, a bouncy castle and face painting.
The music was provided by Huddersfield Wind Band.
