A BEAUTY worker is celebrating after she ‘nailed’ first prize.
Luci Goodyear, 21, who has worked at Nailspa in Scissett for four years, placed first in the Beauty UK Salon nail competition held at Birmingham’s NEC.
For the competition Luci was required to create the perfect salon acrylic nail in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
One hand had then to be painted red.
Luci originally trained in Huddersfield and has since attended various advanced courses including competition training with Nailspa salon owner Belinda Price.
Belinda herself won the same competition in 2010.
Belinda said: “We are so proud of Luci’s achievement, she worked very hard and it paid off.
“It’s great recognition of her skills for both her and her clients.
“Thanks must also go to Michelle, Luci’s model”
This is only the second time Luci has entered a competition and she will be training hard for the next event in Manchester in October.
