A HOLME Valley triathlon last month raised over £500 for Holme Valley Mountain Rescue.

The second Last Of The Summer Tri raised £503 for the voluntary hill rescue charity with 250 competitors from as far as Bristol and Gretna.

Event co-organiser Ian Davies, formerly of Holmfirth, said: “We had great feedback from the competitors but always try and make it even better each time we organise it.”

Men’s winner was Jonathon McLean, the winner of April’s event, who completed the event in 1hr 13min. Women’s winner was Michelle Woodrow with a time of 1hr 30min.
