SENIOR citizens were the guests of honour at a tea party organised by school pupils.

The annual event is held at Salendine Nook High School and aimed at elderly residents from the local area.

Grandparents, relatives and neighbours of pupils in the school are also invited.

More than 90 guests enjoyed afternoon tea prepared and served by Year 10 pupils.

The theme was the Commonwealth Games to tie in with the launch of the sporting event in Glasgow.

Musical entertainment was provided by staff and pupils in school.

Guests were also given the chance to have a bit of a sing song and a dance.

The event is greatly enjoyed by pupils and always popular with its guests.
