A VILLAGE dancing club has shimmied in unison to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Scissett Sequence Dancing Club was launched in 1991 by a group of six dancing fans who wanted to try new things.

The members found a base at their local Working Men’s Club and 20 years on are still meeting on a weekly basis.

Founding member and president, Irene Woolley, said: “It’s grown and grown, we have about 40 members now. Forget all this texting and tweeting and come down and feel the atmosphere at our club. It’s electric!”

The group celebrated its birthday with a special buffet and a speaker.
