FUN runners have a new challenge to take on.

The first ever Shepley 10K will take place this September in a bid to raise cash to help revamp St Paul’s Church in the village.

The route has been planned by local runner Matthew Pattison and the event will take place on Sunday, September 15, starting and finishing at Shepley Cricket Club.

Entrants can run it, bike it or complete it in fancy dress.

Matthew said: “I recently organised and ran the first ever Shepley First School Fun Run which had over 30 runners and raised a substantial £1,400 for the school.

“Which is why I offered to do the same for the church when I heard they needed to raise money to pay for refurbishments to their facilities.

“They need to match a grant they were given otherwise they lose it and with work due to start soon they really need to raise the money ASAP.”

Entry £5. Entrants must be 16+. All participants get a Shepley 10K T-shirt and a medal.
