AFTER reading the article about Mr Shazad Ahmed being fined for talking back to the police (Examiner November 28) I feel I must write to you.

Mr Ahmed owns our local Premier Stores in Paddock and a more pleasant, kind, courteous, helpful man you couldn’t wish to meet.

I have never known him be anything other than courteous to all his customers whatever nationality.

He always has a smile and an interest in his customers. Because of his exceptional customer relations – which are sadly lacking in a good number of public service outlets these days – I can imagine he would be most upset at being spoken to in such a manner by the police officer. Even so, I cannot imagine that he would reply in any other than a polite manner.
