IT’S amazing what a little sun can do to bring people out of their homes and into the community.
Over the weekend we’ve seen people gather together at major events throughout the town, from morris dancing in Mirfield to the community rallying around for an old folks treat in Holmfirth.
Perhaps the best return is that of Honley Show, which had to be cancelled last year due to the heavy rain.
The dedicated team behind the show had more luck this year and they say record numbers turned out to the agricultural show.
What began as a humble farming show has grown to become one of the country’s best and it attracts thousands of visitors to the town.
It’s thanks to the team, so disheartened last year, that it’s returned and the record turn- out is a vote of thanks to them for organising the spectacular show.
