A Multi-cultural event is being staged in Huddersfield to welcome the royal baby.

The Sikh community is inviting people of all backgrounds and faiths to join them this Sunday to celebrate the birth of HRH Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.

A special prayer service will be held at 10.45am at the Sikh Temple, Prospect St, Springwood. It will be a family occasion with people from all sections of the community taking part.

Temple president Inderpal Singh Randhawa said: “We hope that many people of diverse backgrounds from across Huddersfield and beyond will join us on this occasion to make it an integrated event in every sense.

“Anyone, whatever their beliefs, is welcome to attend.”

Following the service there will be speeches, after which a vegetarian lunch (Langar) will be served.
