THE Wives Group at Skelmanthorpe presented yet another successful panto when they put on Puss in Boots at The Methodist Church, Pilling Lane.

It was written, produced and choreographed by Granville Stead and packed audiences were treated to a live show full of fun, antics, laughter and jokes. A gorilla in a tutu, a skeleton and Snuddles the dog enthralled everyone. Everyone joined in with panto repartee and songs.

Full cast was: Puss in Boots (Geraldine Kirby), Creepmouse (Rose Merry), The Lord Chamberlain (Anne Wadsworth), Fairy of Hope (Louise Dockray), Peter (Alex Gracey), Princess Rose (Clare Dodsley), Queen Matilda (Ruth Firth), King Hubert (Barbara Casson), Snuddles the Dog (June Pearson), Egbert (Gillian Healey), Cuthbert (Edna Fisher), Silly Billy (Bernice Hutchinson), Dame Dolly Dumpling (Jennifer Brooks), Ogre Rathbone (Frances Priestnall).

The cast were supported by a group of good dancers: Angela Bond, Maggie Mackenzie, Anthea Smith, Emily Berry, and Laura Horgan

The group has been presenting pantomimes for over 30 years.

The group also enjoys a programme of events and anyone wishing to go along to one of the meetings every first and third Monday in the month at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Pilling Lane, Skelmanthorpe would be made welcome.
