KIRKBURTON councillor Christine Smith has been paying her annual visits to farmers.

First up was a stop at Kenneth Hall’s Farm in Thurstonland to see this year’s spring lambs.

Clr Smith pictured with some lambs, said: “Kirkburton ward is one of the most rural in Kirklees and each spring gives me an opportunity to chat to local farmers, sort out any problems or queries they ma y have and also to look at the new born lambs.

“Farmers are particularly busy people but more so in the spring with lambing and it’s nice to catch up with nature and see the lambs being born. I look forward to it every spring.”
