A DISUSED town centre mill could become a student hall of residence.
A developer plans to turn Rook Street Mill, off St John’s Road, into a hall of residence for 40 students, subject to planning permission from Kirklees Council.
Lockwood resident Abbu Tahir, hopes to build 40 en-suite bedrooms inside the five-story building, formerly used for manufacturing clothes.
The plan includes a kitchen on each floor and a ground floor bedroom with disabled access.
Kirklees councillors will decide on the plan after a public consultation on the proposal ends on Monday next week.
