Students have raised more than £400 for a children’s charity.
And it has topped up the thousand pounds total already raised earlier in the winter term.
North Huddersfield Trust School students proudly donned their Christmas jumpers in return for a pound donation to charity Save The Children.
Ruki Arshad, Associate Assistant Headteacher said: “We are conscious that Christmas can be a difficult time for some families and therefore gave pupils the choice of donating either £1 for Jeans/ Christmas Jumper or to donate some long life tinned food.
“Following the record breaking fundraising success of Children In Need (where pupils raised £1076.25) pupils donated over 200 long life items which were all wrapped up ready to donate to the Welcome Centre in Huddersfield.
‘We are so proud that our pupils and staff value charity and actively participate in helping the less fortunate, our pupils demonstrate strong values in caring and protecting the basic human rights of others.”
