The success of a fundraiser was revealed at Lindley Tower Townswomen’s Guild, when members gathered at the Salvation Army Centre in Oakes.

It was announced that just over £100 had been made at the summer cream tea in August. Money will go towards general guild funds.

The group heard from guest speaker Richard Chapman who was accompanied by his guide dog Chester. Richard shared the story of his life, from becoming blind 23 years ago to his life-saving transplant operation.

The next meeting is on October 2 when there will be a talk on France. Meetings start at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
