PUPILS from Salendine Nook High School have been getting tips on preparing for the world of work.

The group of Year 11 pupils were given mock interviews by staff from the Salendine Nook, Market Street and Shorehead stores of Sainsbury’s.

Six members spent time in the school showing students how an interview could be conducted.

They then gave them feedback on their performance and analysed how they could have done better.

Staff also donated a cheque for £1,200 to the school’s community fund.

This was organised through the supermarket’s matched giving scheme called Local Heroes.

The initiative recognises colleagues who dedicate their time to local community work.

It helps them to make a difference in the local community.

The scheme has donated more than £1.8m to staff’s chosen causes across the UK.
