RAISING money for charity is no easy task these days because of the number of good causes both nationally and here in Huddersfield alone.
Which means that individual charities face an uphill struggle in trying to raise the money they need.
Events like the Mayor of Kirklees’s carol concert, reported in today’s Examiner, deserve every support. Especially when they are for a cause as good as the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.
The charity is grasping a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a state-of-the-art children’s respite centre and hospice in Huddersfield.
For the dream to become a reality, they have got to have money – your money.
Try to go to the concert on December 11 and listen to some superb music.
And then go home full of Christmas cheer, knowing you have had an enjoyable time and have also supported the hospice plans in a practical way.
