IS Mr Barry Sheerman MP serious with his argument that the proposed new Tesco store, replacing the Ibbotson and Lonsbrough flats, would prove to be an eyesore, thus proving detrimental to town centre retailers (Examiner Tuesday, April 1).
Could I then suggest to Mr Sheerman that if he proceeds up from the said flats, turns left upon reaching St George’s Square, walks on past the Market Place, where, thankfully, he will find that Specsavers is still in operation. Or if he’s in difficulty he can ask directions.
