Local theatre company Talking Stock took two of their plays to the stage at the Partington Theatre One Act Play Festival recently.

And out of the 12 plays performed across the festival the Halifax-based company was nominated for four five awards and won two.

Actors Steve Marsden and Alistair Cheetham were nominated for best actor alongside fellow company actor Keith Royston who was hailed the winner.

Keith, Steve and Alistair are all members of the Huddersfield Thespians.

Catherine Pasek was also nominated for best actress.

Alan Stockdill who wrote both the plays they performed at the festival, Deathwatch and In The Last Memory, also won best director.

Both plays premiered at the Viaduct Theatre, Dean Clough earlier this month to great reviews.

There will be a second chance to see the plays as part of Brighouse Arts Festival at The Salvation Army Citadel, 33 King Street, Brighouse on Saturday September 21 at 7.30pm.Tickets £7.50 – refreshments available
