AN engineering student has won an Apple iPad as part of an outstanding performance award at Kirklees College.

Oliver Marshall has just qualified as an apprentice trained engineer, and won the award after showing the most improvement throughout the duration of his apprenticeship at the college and in the workplace.

His award was presented by the executive director of Severn Unival, Colin Findlay, who supports the training work of the college as part of his commitment to his own apprenticeship schemes.

The personal achievement award went to Matthew Lamb, an apprentice of Hilton Process Solutions Ltd.

Head of engineering, John Mills, said: “These awards are an excellent way to keep our students motivated, celebrate their hard work and thank the employers we work with regularly.”
