A top community market is back.

Shoppers can buy some of the best locally produced food and crafts at the Ripponden Community Market.

It will take place from 10am Sunday, September 7, at the usual site on the car park of Brig Royd doctors’ surgery during the weekend of the Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival.

The Deputy Chairman of Ripponden Parish Council, Clr Craig Johnson, said: “The market will once again have a wide range of locally produced crafts and food.

“The market will feature locally produced artisan foods including pies and pickles, farmhouse cheeses, bread and handcrafted speciality cakes and biscuits. Stalls will also be selling items fashioned from driftwood, jewellery, accessories and gifts for the home, artwork, cards and locally grown fresh flowers.”

Ripponden Community Market, winner of the NABMA ‘Best Local Council Market 2014’ is organised by Ripponden Parish Council.

It will be open until 4pm so that visitors coming into Ripponden for the Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival can browse and buy prior to the procession arriving for the service at St Bartholomew’s Church.
