STAFF at a Netherton farm shop had a twin celebration.
There was double trouble at Hinchliffe’s when nanny goat Sparkle gave birth to twins – on the birthday of 14-year-old twins Emily and Bethany Graham, daughters of restaurant manager Joanna.
To mark the unusual occasion, the fluffy billy goats will be called Emile and Bertie after their namesakes.
Proud mum Joanna said: “Goat kids aren’t usually identical but these two are – and so are Emily and Bethany. We would have loved to have named them the same but as they were boys it was only fair to give them more billy goat gruff names!
“It’s been great celebrating four birthdays on the same day. It’s quadruple the fun.”
White goat Sparkle was one of the first animals to be born at Sunnyside Farm, home of Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop, in 2010. Phoenix, was given her name to commemorate a fire that ravaged the farm and to celebrate its new beginning.
