Two Valleys Radio looks for volunteers for its weekly broadcasts

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help the expanding Two Valleys Radio after it began weekly live broadcasts last month. The station, which covers the Colne and Holme valleys, was launched at Marsden Jazz Festival in 2009. Broadcasts took place at special events and at half-term. In 2011 the station began airing twice a month and now Two Valleys is broadcasting every week, thanks to fresh funding from Kirklees Council and South Pennines Leader. Volunteers present Two Valleys: Many Views from 6pm every Monday. Sharon Hockin of Slaithwaite Community Association is one of the presenters. She said: “I knew Two Valleys Radio through Slaithwaite Community Centre, when they interviewed people at our Christmas lights switch-on events.
