Moldgreen 30 Brighouse Rangers 8

MOLDGREEN ran away with the match in the second half at Standiforth Rec after a first half which ebbed and flowed.

They made the breakthrough with a first class try from Connor Smith which was converted by Keiron Reilly.

Brighouse had slope advantage and they piled pressure on the home defence. Eventually, they crossed for an unconverted try to make it 6-4 at the break.

With Moldgreen having the slope in their favour in the second period, they ran away with the points, scoring four converted tries, with the visitors managing just one in reply. There was excellent play from John Colletta, Marcus Derose, Cain Madden and the ‘whippet’ Lewis Griffin. Caylen Lewin and Joe and Miles Dickenson showed excellent ball skills, while the Simpson brothers, Jordan Gill-Smith and Connor Smith also stood out.

Tries: Connor Smith 2, John Colletta, Cain Madden and Keiron Reilly, with the latter adding five goals from five attempts.

All at the club were delighted to welcome back Nathan Hepworth and also gave a big thank you to Deborah at the Black Horse at Dalton for her kind hospitality after the game.
