Photographer Sandie Nicholson, who captures the beauty of Holme Valley’s landscape, has received a Community Champion Award from Holme Valley Parish Council.

The award recognises residents who go the extra mile to do something special for the valley.

Sandie, of Honley, has had some of her landscape photos and her snaps of the Tour de France when it passed through the valley, featured on regional TV.

Ms Nicholson, a hobby photographer, takes many of her pictures while walking her dog, Crumble.

Her work has also featured in magazines, newspapers, and in the 2014 Yorkshire Life calendar.

Holme Valley Parish Council clerk Sally Barber said: “Sandie’s photography is brilliant and has been featured everywhere recently, helping to promote the wonderful Valley that we live in.”
