A VILLAGE sports centre is £5,000 richer thanks to a parish council grant.
Meltham Sports and Community Centre received the cash from Meltham Town Council as part of a local organisations’ grants scheme, which the council introduced in April.
The money will go towards grounds maintenance equipment.
Other smaller grants were awarded to St Mary’s Church, Wilshaw, St James Church, Meltham Mills, Meltham Pre-school, Meltham CE School and Meltham Methodist Church.
