Volunteers are wanted to join the team looking after Marsden Moor.

The National Trust is looking for new volunteers for a variety of roles.

From being out on the moors to tending plants indoors, there’s a role to suit everyone.

Last year the volunteer team at Marsden Moor contributed more than 5,500 hours of their time to help across the estate.

Tasks range from social media to conservation work, surveying the wildlife to leading walks.

The support of the Trust’s dedicated team of volunteers makes a big difference.

Rob Henry, ranger at Marsden Moor, said: “We have a great group of volunteers at Marsden Moor and they are a vital part of our team.

“Our volunteers bring a wide range of skills and experience that are really important in helping us look after this special place.

“Whether you want to develop your skills, make friends, or just want to give something back, volunteering is a great way to expand your horizons.”

Anyone interested in volunteering at Marsden Moor can visit the Do-it volunteering website (www.do-it.org.uk) or contact the Estate Office on 01484 847016 or e-mail marsdenmoor@nationaltrust.org.uk.

The National Trust manages almost 2,500 hectares of moorland on Marsden Moor Estate.

The estate, gifted to the National Trust in 1955, is of international importance for its wildlife and habitats, and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Protection Area and a Special Area of Conservation.
