BRIGHOUSE and Rastrick, Fodens and the Black Dyke Band will feature in one of the biggest brass band festivals anywhere in the world later this year.
The eleventh Great Northern Brass Arts Festival extravaganza, at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, on Saturday September 6, will see the three top bands appearing in the Gala Evening Concert starting at 7.15pm.
The festival starts at 10am with brass bands marching from the Bridgewater Hall around the streets of Manchester. There will be a lunchtime concert featuring Wingates Band and an afternoon concert (2.15pm) by the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain, conducted by Dr Nicholas Childs.
Then, at 4.15, 16 times British open champions and nine times national champions the Fairey Band will give an early evening concert.
There will also be piazza concerts and foyer performances.
