How can some do it and others not? Barnsley isn't, surely the protocol is for everyone.
I don't think it should be done for anyone but the Queen.

I'm sure there will be authorities who will ignore the protocols to make a political point. If the protocols are there, they should be followed. It makes the authority just look petty and reflects badly on the political party running that authority.

I can understand why Barnsley are not doing it....or any other coal mine town, What on earth would be the reaction if Sheffield half masted....The whole media response to the death of Mrs T. is over the top. Let's just get on with life and go forward.

Why is this failure as a PM, a destroyer of much of what this country needs, someone who never received the support of the voters being accorded what amounts to a state funeral. Kirklees decision to fly flags at half mast is an insult to the local population.
