A WOMAN who completed a gruelling sponsored run along Hadrian’s Wall hopes to push her fundraising total above £1,000.

Receptionist Amanda Crozier, 43, of Mirfield, wants to thank family, friends and sponsors.

She has so far raised almost £900 – but her Just Giving page remains open for another couple of weeks and she would love to reach £1,000.

Amanda completed the 69-mile two-day trek in June.

She was raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, inspired by her father Tony’s fight against bladder cancer.

The event started in torrential rain and the first part of the ‘run’ took place in knee-deep floods.

Amanda wanted to thank her 74-year-old dad and mum Joan, 72, of Slaithwaite, who drove her to Carlisle for the start.

She also thanked her sister Sarahlee Siswick and her partner Robert Drain who went up to support her.

Amanda said: “It was the most fantastic experience and while it was extremely challenging, and the weather was less than kind, the scenery and historic surroundings certainly took my mind off tired legs.”

Amanda, who caught the running bug just last year, has already planned her next challenge.

She is taking part in the Great North Run next month for the same charity.
