Lifesaving efforts by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance are being celebrated as part National Air Ambulance Week.

The Association of Air Ambulances, which overseas all the country’s fleet, has enlisted celebrities and sports personalities who have pledged support and produced a short film.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of individuals and in Huddersfield has benefited from the efforts of Huddersfield Town’s Keep It Up campaign.

The annual Pedal For Pounds cycle rides have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds – half of which goes to the air ambulance and the other to the Town’s Academy.

To keep both of Yorkshire's air ambulances in the air the charity needs to raise £9,990 per day. This is equivalent to £3.6m per year.
