HUDDERSFIELD Town is celebrating scoring a huge donation for its Youth Academy.

The football club received over £44,000 from Yorkshire Building Society’s Terriers savings account.

The Academy receives a donation of 1% of the total balances held in the account twice a season as part of the club’s affinity partnership with the Yorkshire.

The amount takes the total contributed by the building society to £91,980 this season.

Town fans can open a Terriers account with just £1 for under 18s and a minimum of £100 for adults.

Anyone opening an account will receive two free home game tickets as well as a gift from the Club.

The account can be opened in any of the Yorkshire’s branches.

Sean Jarvis, Town’s commercial director, said: “The donation from Yorkshire Building Society plays a key part in the future of Huddersfield Town and represents a huge contribution towards youth development at the Club.

“It’s fantastic to see such a large amount being donated once again this season.

“I would like to say a big thank you to all the Town fans who have helped to support the Academy financially by opening a Terriers account”.
