THREE lovingly-tended gardens are being opened to the public next month.

Liz Philpott, who won the 2008 Examiner Garden of the Year competition, will open her garden to the public to raise funds for Meltham Methodist and Roman Catholic churches.

Along with her garden at 69, Heather Road, neighbours Tricia Pyle at 75 and Elaine Burke at 67 Heather Road will also be opening their gardens for people to view.

The event, which takes place from 12.30pm to 5pm on Saturday, July 4, also includes a cake stall, a plant stall and raffles. The entry fee of £2.50 includes a cream tea.
