THE new head of Kirklees Council has begun work.

Paul Rogerson took over as interim chief executive yesterday.

He will take on the role for up to four months while a permanent replacement is found for Rob Vincent, who has taken over at troubled Doncaster Council.

Mr Rogerson, who has just retired as chief executive of Leeds City Council, will be paid £7,750 a month in his new role – 60% of Mr Vincent’s salary.
