SANTA is coming to town this Christmas – well, actually hundreds of them will be here.

The Lions Club of Huddersfield is organising a Santa Dash in the town centre and dozens of charities are set to benefit from the event on Sunday, December 11. All people have to do is register, turn up on the day in a Santa costume and then run, walk or stagger around the mile-long course.

It will set off from The Shambles and go up Ramsden Street turning right into New Street, up Cloth Hall Street, along Railway Street, down Northumberland Street and then along Cross Church Street back to the starting line.

The £10 entry fee per person will include a Santa suit to keep, administration costs for the Lions and money towards the charity of your choice. The entry fee for children is £5 and they get a set of antlers. There will be a launch night at Lindley Liberal Club at the top of Occupation Road on Tuesday, September 27, at 7.30pm for charities wanting to find out more.
