Following the birth of the Royal baby, a leading children’s charity is assuring Mirfield people there is free help out there for new parents without the Royal luxuries.

Gillian Haigh, of Action for Children’s Mirfield Children’s Centre, said: “We would like to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their new arrival.

“Adjusting to motherhood is a difficult time for anyone – even a duchess – and Kate will have to contend with the sleepless nights, breastfeeding and nappy changing, just like all the other new mums out there.

“Kate and William are very lucky to have such a great support system around them, and all the money they need to provide for the new baby.

“However most of us don’t have the same time and luxuries as the Royals.

“Action for Children recognises that being a new parent can be very taxing.

“Mirfield Children’s Centre gives new parents all the guidance and support they need so that new-borns in Mirfield really receive the Royal treatment.”

The centre in Taylor Hall Lane offers a wide range of services, drop-in sessions and activities for families.

These include midwife drop-in sessions, baby massage, Jolly Babies and Musical Toddlers, One Stop Shop, Stay and Play, Explore and Move and immunisation clinics.
