Princess Anne gave the latest addition to the Royal family a warm welcome when she paid a whistle stop visit to West Yorkshire today.

As the Princess Royal officially opened the new underground tours in the National Coal Mining Museum she was asked by well wishers for her views on the birth of the Duchess of Cambridge's baby boy.

She said: "It's nothing to do with me but it's very good news."

Princess Anne spent around two hours at the complex and went underground to visit the displays and underground classroom that have been created as part of the new Go Mining! tour.
