More than 600 worshippers from Huddersfield attended an annual convention to celebrate 100 years of their religion in the UK.

They joined 30,000 Ahmadiyya Muslims who gathered in Hampshire for the centenary earlier this month – the annual biggest single convention of Muslims in Britain.

President Fatihul Haq commented: “Despite persecution, the abiding message of our community is Love for All, Hatred for None.

“We enter our second century in Britain with optimism and hope. Despite the efforts of

extremists our message of peace has prevailed and we will continue to counter hatred and prejudice with prayer and service to mankind.”

An exhibition at the convention highlighted the vast international welfare and development works carried out by the community and marked the achievements of the past century in the community’s drive for peace.
