A MUSIC duo from the north east are coming to Huddersfield as part of a ‘100 gigs in 100 days’ charity marathon.

The pair are called We Steal Flyers and they are raising money to help two children’s hospices – Martin House near Boston Spa in Yorkshire and Grace House Hospice near Sunderland.

The gigs are busker style and people need to throw a donation in.

The group is Derek Allan and Jason Vare.

Derek’s wife, Mel, said: “It has been a gruelling tour and they are now drinking a mix of honey and lemon just to keep their voices intact.

“Their bodies are tired and their fingers are in bits from all of the strumming but they are keeping it going.’’

The Huddersfield gig dates are the Golden Cock, Farnley Tyas today; the Bridge Tavern on Woodhead Road, Holmebridge tomorrow; The Cellar Bar, Station Road, Batley, on Friday and The Rose and Crown at The Village, Thurstonland on Saturday. All these gigs start at 8pm.
