A PRESSURE group is offering a £1,000 reward to catch the sick yobs who tied up a cat in a rabbit trap.
Fizz the cat, belonging to Jules Vickerman, of Berry Brow, had to be put to sleep after she was strung up to a holly bush.
In Fizz's struggle to free herself, her feet were torn off.
Now the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group (Peta) believes other animals - and even residents - could be in danger if the twisted criminals are at large.
The organisation urges pet owners to keep a close eye on them.
Peta spokesman Will Wright said: "Animal abusers are cowards. They take their issues out on the most defenceless beings available to them.
"Huddersfield residents have good reason to be concerned," he added.
"Leading mental health professionals and the police say perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat not only to other animals but to the community as a whole."
Anyone with information about Fizz's case should phone the RSPCA in confidence on 08705 555999.
