A HOLME Valley shop has donated £10,000 to the children’s hospice appeal.

Wooldale Co-operative Society has collected the money through various fundraising events over the past few years.

And they were delighted to present the cheque to the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

Linda Senior, who founded the Trust after experiencing a lack of provision for her son Russell, has relatives who work at the Co-op’s Thongsbridge store.

Joyce Whitworth, director of the Society, said: “We have 30 members of staff, who over a period of time have done all sorts to raise money for the Trust from tombolas, to somebody sky-diving and collecting at galas.’’

The Trust aims to build a haven for children with life-limiting conditions as well as supporting their families by offering respite service.
