A DEWSBURY man has been jailed for 11 years for raping a drunken 15-year-old girl.

And a second has also been handed a jail term after a court heard how the girl was filmed as she was sexually assaulted by a number of men.

Ali Rehman, 26, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court for his part in the attack on the teenager in May 2010, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The schoolgirl was “treated as little more than an object, something to use and abuse”, an earlier hearing was told. Rehman admitted raping the victim earlier this year.

Another man, Faisar Younas, who admitted sexual activity with a child, was jailed for four years.

A third defendant, Larasab Hussain, will be sentenced later. Earlier this year, the trial was halted after pleas were entered by Rehman, Younas and Hussain.

The court heard then how the girl was taken to three different houses in Dewsbury where she was raped and sexually assaulted.

Video clips showing the naked teenager being indecently touched by some of the men were shown to the jury during the opening of the trial.

Rehman, of Tanhouse Street, Ravensthorpe, admitted three counts of raping the girl and another count of attempted rape.

Younas, 23, of Textile Street, Dewsbury, admitted sexual activity with a child.

Hussain, 45, of Headfield Road, Savile Town, Dewsbury, admitted a charge of sexual assault. He will be sentenced on July 4. Earlier this year, the CPS said it would offer no further evidence against three other men who were originally charged and involved in the same trial as Rehman, Younas and Hussain.

Det Insp Andy Leonard, of Kirklees CID, said: “This was an extremely sensitive enquiry that began in May 2010 when the police became aware that a young girl had been raped and sexually exploited by Ali Rehman and the others, who also moved their victim to several properties in the Dewsbury area in an attempt to avoid detection and prevent the girl from being found.

“By carrying out the acts they performed on such a young and vulnerable girl, the defendants have disgusted the investigating officers on the case and we are very glad to see Ali Rehman and Faizal Younis behind bars today.

“By initially not pleading guilty, these people have also subjected the victim to the ordeals of a Crown Court trial.

“The bravery of the victim should not therefore be underestimated and her statements and interviews have been vital in securing the sentences that have been handed by the courts”.

He added: “This case should show how West Yorkshire Police will vigorously investigate any cases of exploitation of children and wherever there is evidence, we will put people before the courts.

“Those who prey on the vulnerable should not be allowed to get away with their crimes.”
